The chair is an object that transcends its usefulness. It´s not strictly another piece of furniture. A chair, to be truly a chair, must have been able to establish an affective bond with the one who uses it. There are chairs in many forms and each person can remember some particular ones but the representation of the chair, the mythical chair, can only be represented by the essential, and the essence of the chair is its architecture. We have therefore chosen this one, schematic and unadorned, almost skeletal, to represent them all in the game of chairs.

They are stairs that you can pile up, stack, leave scattered on the floor, group into random shapes or difficult balance, but whatever we do with them, this game lets us play with  the most primitive rules, those of a child trying to challenge himself with the equilibrium stacking objects, and freest artistic expressiveness.

Playing with the chairs, letting ourselves be carried by the desire to experiment, will let appear upsetting feelings, emotions sometimes difficult to express, those that appear unexpectedly without searching them.

During the game we are led by stimuli, intuitions, feelings, memories, findings that deviates us from the usual mechanisms of our behavior. It is not a sophisticated intellectual activity, the aim is to play and see that the construction we are making will surprise us by its beauty, the audacity of its balance, the strangeness of its forms, etc. Without a doubt, after a while some questions about poetic language will arise. No one  will be able to answer them but we will continue to play increasingly more curious and enjoying more and more.

The chairs are presented disassembled and must be assembled before playing. One assembled is already included for reference. If you need more chairs to create more complex constructions, contact us.
